The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released an official notification inviting online applications for the position of Veterinary Officer, Class-I (Gazetted), on a contractual basis, within the Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The registration process has already begun, and the last date to submit the application form is October 27. Interested candidates can apply through the official website of the HPPSC at hppsc.hp.gov.in.

The purpose of this recruitment campaign is to appoint veterinary officers to fill a total of 56 vacancies.
HPPSC Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) from a recognised university, as specified by the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (Act No. 52 of 1984) and registration with the State Veterinary Council Act, 1984 is required from the applicants. Proficiency and adaptability in the customs, languages, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh is also a must.
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 45 years as of January 1, 2023. The upper age limit can be relaxed by five years for candidates belonging to specific categories, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities, and Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh, as declared by the government from time to time.

Step 1: Log in to the official website of HPPSC at hppsc.hp.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, under the Apply Online section, click on ‘One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations.’
Step 3: A new window will be displayed where candidates will have to register by filling out all the necessary details.
Step 4: Now, log in using your generated credentials.
Step 5: Once done, fill out the application form, attach all the required documents, and pay the HPPSC recruitment application fee.

HPPSC Recruitment 2023: Application Fee
The application fees for all the candidates except the reserved category will be Rs. 400. Additionally, male candidates of SC, ST, OBC, and EWS covered under the UR-BPL categories of Himachal Pradesh and ex-servicemen candidates of Himachal Pradesh belonging to SC, ST, and OBC will have to pay Rs. 100.
The ex-Servicemen male candidates of Himachal Pradesh who are relieved from the Defence Services after completion of their normal tenure of service under the Government of India and the visually impaired male candidates of Himachal Pradesh are exempted from paying the examination fee.
